What We’re Seeking

The Maintenance Parts Coordinator is responsible to ensure parts are available when needed, manage inventories of all maintenance and manufacturing repair parts, performs cycle counts of parts and is responsible for operating within policies & procedures of the organization.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Maintain and update parts inventory database, including but not limited to setting up new parts, evaluating min/max settings, updating locations, sorting new equipment parts, determining specific parts for inventory (all within CMMS (Asset Essentials)).
  • Take ownership of storeroom layout and usage while modifying layout and organization as demands change, maintain barcoding and labeling of all stocked parts, and update storage to facilitate locating stocked parts in less than two minutes. This includes all part areas for equipment, facility, and shop parts areas.
  • Order and receive appropriate parts for production equipment and the facility based on consumption and planned work using CMMS.
  • Establish, improve, and/or maintain cycle count processes for all parts and consumables.
  • Strong ability to search and identify parts, leveraging parts manuals, schematics, and the internet.
  • Display knowledge and ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, blueprints, P&IDs, etc.
  • Display a basic knowledge of tools, methods and skills required to complete maintenance activities.
  • Display a basic knowledge of components (how they work, what they do, where used on our equipment, etc.).
  • Collaborate with external vendors and/or contractors to locate parts; find alternate vendors as needed and identify all expediting options to meet production demands.
  • Update and improve CMMS infrastructure as part needs & equipment changes.
  • Work with technicians to provide accurate, searchable part information, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and enforce proper part checkout processes.

 

  • Work with vendors to decrease parts costs and increase parts availability.
  • Understand and be able to complete basic functions of the Maintenance Planner job utilizing CMMS; create a work order, and schedule work orders to employees, etc.
  • Address noted gaps and communicated them across all technician shifts.
  • Verify all purchased parts invoices are submitted for approval and open purchase orders are completed in a timely manner.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

  • Must have High School education or equivalent.
  • Must have experience in parts ordering, storing, and inventory control position(s).
  • Must have a high level of organizational skills and the ability to operate independently as part of a team.
  • Must have strong computer skills; M/S Excel experience required.
  • Must be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal, teambuilding and leadership skills.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem resolution skills. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasional weekends as required. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Must be willing to be in production areas of approximately 40 degrees up to 20% of the time.
