Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accountant for an amazing nonprofit organization. This is an incredible full-time, contract-to-hire, and on-site opportunity located in St. Paul, MN.
In this role, the Accountant is responsible for maintaining an accurate general ledger. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead preparation of the monthly financial close by preparing various journal entries and supporting schedules. Generate month end detail and summary reports, including variance reports.
  • Track and report on monthly donations.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare most of the schedules for the annual external audit.
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts. Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility as needed.
  • Assist Director of Finance on ad hoc process improvement projects.
  • Liaison for the accounting team with other departments regarding transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelorâ?™s degree in accounting or related field required
  • 4-6 years of direct accounting experience in nonprofit organization is desirable
  • Account reconciliation experience
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Proficiency in using a variety of software applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The hourly rate for this role ranges between $28-$32 per hour. You will also be able to receive benefits through Scion Staffing upon eligibility! Benefits include medical, dental, vision, voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
