If this describes you, we want to speak with you. The Learning Consultant role is responsible for the creation and execution of enterprise and/or business area learning program strategy. In this role, the Learning Consultant builds strategic partnerships to understand needs, assess workforce skills and capabilities against future needs, and proactively identify opportunities for integrated learning and development solutions. Performance Consulting

  • Build and deepen strategic partnerships with leaders within a business area and/or across the organization.
  • Analyze business and performance needs, determining what solutions are required to address those needs.
  • Use effective data analysis and decision-making methods to derive findings, reveal trends and patterns in performance, and make recommendations.
  • Use effective presentation techniques to report findings and recommendations and gain agreement from decision-makers to move forward.
Learning Strategy
  • Define, create, manage, and maintain learning strategies for multidisciplinary and/or enterprise-wide learning programs.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration and consulting with key leaders and business partners to address performance, business goals, and needs of the organization.
  • Assist with planning for and improving the readiness of the organization to benefit from the changes that are triggered by strategy implementation.
  • Create and execute detailed plans to deploy elements of the strategy.
Instructional design and development
  • Ensure alignment between learning strategy and curriculum development.
  • Create and curate high-quality, high-impact learning materials as needed.
  • Oversee the work of other learning specialists assigned to a development project.
Learning Delivery
  • Schedule, prepare, and facilitate virtual and classroom sessions as needed.
  • Develop facilitation criteria for instructor-led program components.
  • Provide monitoring and oversight of program sessions delivered by other learning specialists.
Evaluation and measurement
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning strategies in supporting business outcomes.
  • Create and implement a measurement plan for key elements of the learning strategy.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional design methodology and best practices, adult learning theory, and organizational behavior.
  • Experience interacting with executives and facilitating executive-level meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assess organizational needs/ culture and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including skills in developing and delivering presentations for audiences of all levels of business.
  • Demonstrated ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment within broadly defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Seeks new information out to increase effectiveness and quickly assimilate new knowledge.
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills at all levels; getting results with and through others
  • Strong project and program management skills and experience; planning, time management, stakeholder and vendor management
Experience and Education Guidelines
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Business, or Human Resources; master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years in a variety of workplace learning roles designing and delivering a wide array of learning solutions.
Independence has implemented a "Hybrid" model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the "Hybrid" model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.
