Environmental Driller Assistant

Are you seeking a challenging opportunity with a firm committed to our employees and providing excellence? S&ME is seeking an eager and dedicated full-time Driller Assistant to join our Environmental team in Pell City, Alabama .

About the Role:

As a Driller Assistant - CDL Driver , you'll travel throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi, engaging in projects that involve environmental drilling, soil sampling, and groundwater collection. Working with our Lead Driller, you'll handle duties such as driving, small and heavy equipment maintenance, and operating heavy machinery, to name a few. The role requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (provided) such as steel-toed boots, hard hat, high visibility gloves, and vest, with occasional use of a respirator and protective suit. Weekly travel is required.

This position has a base pay range of $25.00 - $32.00 per/hour based on experience.

About You:

• You have a High School Diploma or GED
• You have a valid CDL driver's license
• You have a minimum of one (1) year of construction or drilling experience
• You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
• You are familiar with the safe operation of Bobcat Skid Steer Loader, a plus

S&ME conducts pre-employment background and motor vehicle record checks, as well as post-offer drug screenings. Employment is contingent upon pre-employment check results.

Are You Willing and Able to:

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provide Personal Protective Equipment such as:

• Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
• Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground and around active construction sites
• Traveling out-of-town (typically overnight) for assignments as necessary
• Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
