Job Description The Detroit office of SmithGroup is looking for an Entry Level Interior Designer to join our team. SmithGroup has been named one of Southeast Michigans Top Workplaces by the Detroit Free Press for nine (9) consecutive years!
Working with us, you will:
Provide a full range of interior design services, including generating overall interior design concepts, formulating design presentation strategies and making presentations.
Compile construction documents package for projects and deliver the design through documentation and detailing.
Prepare, develop, and edit specifications.
Select FF&E materials.
Coordinate with consultants or subcontractors.
Work to project budgets and schedules related to interior design component.
An ideal candidate has:
A bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of interior design experience.
LEED AP preferred.
The understanding of space planning concepts and basic building code concepts.
Exceptional graphic presentation skills with high proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUP, Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design programs.
