Overview:

Salary $44,000 year

Scope of Position

  • Provide support and assistance to program participants in all areas related to gaining and /or retaining employment and career advancement.
  • Perform client orientation onsite/virtually (group/individual) and maintain client database
  • Engage jobseekers before and after EARN orientation week and maintain classroom conducive to learning
  • Facilitate successful participant workshop engagement and learning (onsite/virtually)
  • Support clients with proper job search techniques and mock interviews, in person and/or virtual
  • Coordinate and interact with Licensed Family Advocate (LFA) for supportive services
  • Provide support and collaborate on cases with all team members

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning:
    • Establish clear expectations and encourage client accountability
    • Have knowledge of registration on the PA CareerLink website and related programming
    • Maintain an awareness of differences in individual barriers, learning styles, and strengths
    • Encourage and support clients to obtain and retain employment, seek training to enhance their skill set, and seek resources to support in resolving issues that may impede successful job placement and retention and self-sufficiency
  • Support team members:
    • Use a fresh approach to clients retuning with multiple referrals to the EARN program and identify areas of improvement in order to complete the program goals successfully
    • Perform data entry in CWDS for case noting and updating Individual Employment Plans (IEP)
    • Support client outreach, retention, training, employer job postings, and client case management as per program policies and procedures.
    • Support clients tasks including job readiness, portfolio documentation, and preparation for interviewing
    • Assist clients with registering for PA CareerLink workshops/programming and the use and understanding of social media platforms that meet the needs of current workforce trends
  • Model positive and professional behavior:

  • Model respect and professionalism across all situations
  • Demonstrate allegiance to policies, procedures, and expectations of EDSI:
  • Maintain timely and complete documentation
  • Participate in required program and community meetings
  • Collab orate effectively and communicate proactively with staff and clients
  • Contact new and current community internship partners to coordinate interviews and assignments for clients:
    • Discuss activity and process with jobseekers
    • Follow up with partners to ensure start date and monitor performance
    • Provide job opportunities and event information to clients
    • Assist clients in identifying appropriate job preparation resources and the use of job search software programs
  • Other opportunities as available

Qualifications:
  • Experience in training, education, or career development
  • Two years of professional experience in career counseling, case management or a related customer service
  • Able to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • An associates degree is preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual software platforms required to perform reporting, and any additional job responsibilities.
  • Preferred but not required: Bilingual in Russian or Ukrainian
