Job Details We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our team, a leading commercial general contracting firm. The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers to ensure successful project delivery from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers in overseeing all aspects of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, and execution
- Create, update, and maintain project controls tracking cost, schedule, changes, submittals, and quality control
- Organize and document project meetings, preparing accurate minutes and action items
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely project completion
- Assist in procurement processes, including soliciting vendor pricing and recommending contract awards
- Prepare accurate and concise contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders
- Support the change order management process by updating logs, obtaining pricing, and developing estimates and proposals
- Review and coordinate shop drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents
- Assist in the project close-out process to ensure timely completion
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality
- Serve as a liaison between project management and team members, conveying important updates and gathering feedback
- Prepare project status reports and assist in creating project proposals
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and project-related discussions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably as an Assistant Project Manager
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and industry standards
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
