Overview
Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Manager, the incumbent, either personally or through subordinates, ensures that all vendor orders and invoices are processed in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities
May include but are not limited to:
- Assemble and review vendor invoices, purchase orders, receiving documents and other information for payment processing
- Input vendor invoices into the system
- Organize and maintain all files
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments
- Assist the supervisor with month-end responsibilities
- Ensures accounts payable are processed timely and accurately and in accordance with company accounts payable policies.
- Interacts with Purchasing and Warehouse Departments on a regular basis to ensure that all required documentation is forwarded to Accounts Payable as required.
- Interacts with vendors on a regular basis, researches and resolves invoice discrepancies.
- Ensures that the distribution of work to Accounts Payable Clerks is appropriate, and reviews and monitors productivity of other clerical staff.
- Responsible for review of Accounts Payable Aging Reports to ensure compliance with established payment terms.
- Responsible for assisting in the process of interfacing Accounts Payable to the General Ledger.
- Assists with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Adheres to all Seminole Tribe of Florida's Policies and Procedures.
- Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with five (5) years of accounts payable experience in a computerized Accounts Payable environment or a combination of education and/or experience preferred.
- Must possess excellent time management skills.
- Must possess ability to direct team members.
- Must possess ability to read and understand all Seminole Tribe of Florida’s policies and procedures.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, vendors and team members.
- Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Must possess ability to handle non-standard situations where independent judgment is required and limited guidelines exist.
- Computer systems and 10-key adding machine experience preferred.
